20 year-old trumpet star Ace Williams, influenced by the vast lineage of the African American and Japanese traditions, aims to bring the values and feelings of peace to his audience. Born in New York City, he began playing trumpet at the age of eight under the tutelage of his father, Willie Williams. He has studied with musicians such as: Mark Gross,Valery Ponomarev, Tatum Greenblatt and the late Joe Shepley among many others.
The jazz veterans and stars he has shared the stage with includes Willie Williams, T.S. Monk, Mimi Jones, Regina Carter, Sean Jones, and Dee Dee Bridgewater.
He has played in many venues in the NYC/NJ area such as Carnegie Hall, NJPAC, the Blue Note Jazz Club and others, and has also recorded at the historic Rudy Van Gelder Studios.
